Parent/Guardian Agreement
Riverdale Rays Swim Team is 100% dependent on adult volunteers to oversee the team. Parents and guardians are required to provide (1) volunteer for each meet in order for their child(ren) to participate with the Riverdale Rays Swim Team.
Every swim meet (at our home pool or at away meets) is run solely by volunteers from both teams; each team is required by the Greater Peninsula Swim Association (GPSA) to provide a certain number of officials, timers, and other volunteers per meet. Official positions (referee, stroke & turn judge, starter, GPSA representative, etc.) require training provided by GPSA. Parents of swimmers who have been a part of the Riverdale Rays for 2 or more season will be required to attend a training or complete training online.
If a parent or guardian, is unable to attend a swim meet, or otherwise, fulfill volunteer duties, it is their sole responsibility to find an adult volunteer to take their place. It is also the parent or guardians' responsibility to let the GPSA Representative (or board member) know who will be attend in their place. Failure to volunteer, without prior approval of the Rays’ swim team board, may result in my swimmer(s) being ineligible to swim in the next swim meet/event.
Coaches are in charge of swim practices. If a parent or guardian does not agree with coaching decisions, issues can be discussed with the coach before or after practice, and/or with the swim team board. Parents or guardians should not interfere with practice while it is in session.
The Riverdale Rays Swim Team is sustained through donations. Parents, guardians, and swimmers will need to assist in fundraising.
All swim team dues and RRA membership dues (at least initial payment/arrangements) are due and payable within two (2) weeks after the start of practice. Failure to pay any of these dues, or establish a plan of payment, by this date may require removal of the swimmer(s) from the team without a refund.
If any of the agreements listed on this form are broken, code of conduct rules are broken, and/or payment rules are not followed, it is the right of the Riverdale Rays Swim Team Board to remove any swimmer(s) from the team without a refund.
