Swim Meets
Riverdale Rays will participate in 4 regular season meets as part of the GPSA league. The team will also hold time trials to obtain swimmers times and provide practice for both swimmers and families. Swimmers will be given additional chances to compete at friendship meets this season. Meets are held on weekdays starting at 6pm. Warm-ups are held at 5 pm for the home team and 5:30 for the away team. Swimmers should arrive early and be prepared to be in the water at the start of warm-ups.
Parents are required to mark their swimmer as attending for each swim meet in order for them to participate in the meet. Mark swimmers early as not attending due to a vacation or pre-planned absence. If your swimmer becomes ill and is unable to swim please let the coach or board member now asap.
Meet Events
A swimmer may only compete in three individual events and one relay per meet (per GPSA rules). However, a swimmer may also compete in exhibition. No points are earned toward the score, but the times are able to be used to qualify for City Meet.
Transportation
Parents are responsible to see that their swimmer(s) has/have transportation to and from practices and meets. Coaches are not able to provide rides for swimmers.
City Meet
Swimmers who have qualifying times according to GPSA posted times will be eligible to participate.
